Be Inspired – Vintage Sunflower Spiral Necklace

So this month yellow was the brief, the colour that represents ‘happiness’ and the colour of the sun. My problem with this was that yellow would usually be my least likely colour choice given the option, so my aim for this jewellery making project was to take this super sunny colour and tone it down a notch or two.  I feel that the antique copper craft wire works beautifully alongside the yellow fimo flower beads, because it and creates a slightly more delicate tone to it and that it sprinkles... Floral jewellery tributes decorate collections on Spring/Summer catwalks

It’s currently fashion week in New York and the Spring/Summer runways are awash with pretty flowers. Floral influences have been seen across many collections from Chanel to Sass & Bide. Floral blooms are a popular pattern choice that helps perk up winter wardrobes and chase away those winter blues. For us, the floral theme also channels that much desired retro vibe. Embroidered and embellished flowers have been used in exciting ways to accessorise outfits at designer label Chanel, and Ralph Lauren showcased gorgeous black and red floral clutch bags. Floral... Poppy inspired jewellery supports Remembrance Day

While the Poppy Appeal has always been a successful fundraising venture, the poppy itself seems to be following in the Appeal’s footsteps by becoming a style must-have. After a glamorous revamp by jeweller Kleshna and a string of celebrity endorsements, the sparkly poppies worn for Remembrance Sunday have become hugely popular. The poppies have been given the glam factor by the addition of red and black Swarovski Crystals. Celebrity judges and contestants on The X- Factor and Strictly Come Dancing have showcased the glittering brooches, which have been a huge... Read More

Steampunk Fimo Rose Earrings

The earrings are steampunk inspired and the roses are glued onto a steampunk cog wheel pendant and then that is glued onto a flat back connector so that a ear wire is easy to attach. Then we glued some faceted flat backs, which we had spare, just to give that extra sparkle.

Creative cameo & flower charm necklace

We have used a mixture of the cameo mounts to create this bright and colourful vintage style charm necklace. The pictured pendants are just pictures cut from magazines and on the centre pendant we have used clear glass cabochons glued over the top; hypo cement is best for this. We glued jump rings onto the flat backed roses using 5 minute epoxy glue, so these hang nicely of the chain. The large cameo mount in the middle has fimo and resin flowers and Swarovski glued into it also with epoxy... Read More

Spring flowers inspire us to make some jewellery bursting with colour

We love taking our dog Ruby out for long walks and in our local park recently we came across these beautiful yellow and purple flowers. Spring is such a lovely time of year for bright yellows, purples and greens, and we couldn’t resist making some jewellery with these colours. We have designed an intricate bracelet, a ring and a pair of earrings by mixing bright colours with softer green and lavender colours. Each jewellery item uses purple flower fimo beads which have little green leaves underneath them. The bracelet has... Read More
