How To Make…Fimo Rose Mesh Ring With Swarovski Crystals

We have used two Fimo flower beads, that look very pretty against the Swarovski Crystals, which are in the colours fuchsia, hyacinth and fern green. The Japanese seed beads in champagne rainbow finish off the ring beautifully.

1 Take approx 1m of nylon, thread through the centre hole of the sieve so that approx 7cm protrudes from the back. Thread the other end through a hole next to it and knot the two ends twice at the back, then thread back up through the centre hole. Do not trim the short end; you will need it later to secure the finish

2 Next thread on one of the flower beads, then feed it back through the centre hole and pull tight. Now thread another flower next to the first one the same way, repeat with the last flower.

3 Once all three flowers are attached you can start adding the Swarovski beads. These go on differently, pull the nylon through the hole next to the last flower, thread on a Swarovski 4mm or 6mm bead, then a seed bead, the nylon now goes back through the Swarovski bead, NOT through the seed bead, and then back through the same hole, pull tight.

4 Repeat with the rest of the other Swarovski beads filling as many holes as you can.

5 Once you have finished and you have both ends of nylon at the back of the ring, tie them in a couple of knots and trim the ends. Place the beaded sieve on the ring base and use chain nose pliers to close the claws over the edge of the sieve.

When you first put the flowers on, they may not sit very tight, but don’t Panic! once you have started threading on the Swarovski beads, these sit tighter and will keep the flowers in place.

You can place the flowers right next to each other as I have done, or you can spread them out slightly so you can put the Swarovski in between them.
