How to Make a Stunning Swarovski Anklet
Whether you’re a beading beginner or expert, this how-to guide will give you all the tools you need to create a beautiful anklet – the perfect accessory now that the sun is shining. Swarovski beads are perfect for adding a little glitz, however they also work great with seed beads or glass beads.
What are anklets?
Anklets are exactly what they say on the tin, bracelets that are worn around the ankle. They are perfect for warm weather jaunts and they look great with flip-flops and sandals. You can buy anklets at most accessory stores but making your own is much more fun.
What will you need?
- 1 Jump ring
- Memory wire cutters
- 2 Crimp beads
- Measuring tape
- Swarovski beads
- Memory wire
- 1 Lobster-claw clasp
Whether you’re creating a unique gift, or adding some sparkle to your festival outfit, by following these four simple steps below you can quickly become a beading genius. We suggest that you use memory wire, as it is hard wearing and will always returns to its circular shape.
Step 1: Start by measuring your ankle with the tape. Write down the measurement, and add about 10cm. Use the wire cutters to cut the beading wire to this length.
Step 2: Slide a crimp bead on the beading wire, and string the clasp on behind it. Bend the wire back around, and thread the end back through the crimp bead. Pull the end to secure it, and then use the pliers to crimp the bead.
Step 3: String the Swarovski beads onto the wire in the order you like. You might want to try laying out a few different designs before you decide on your final anklet. Stop stringing the beads when you have about 4cm of wire remaining.
Step 4: Thread another crimp bead on the end and then add your jump ring. Tuck the end of the wire back through the crimp bead, and tighten it down. Finally, crimp the bead to secure your anklet.
Step 5: Finally, clip your new Swarovski jewellery around your ankle. You are now the proud owner of a unique, homemade anklet.
