How To Make Earrings with Craft Wire

Summer time is fast approaching and we are eager to get creating new jewellery for you to show off in the sun! When I think of Summer I think of warm tones such as gold and bright colours to complement your newly bronzed bod!
I am going to show you how to make a gorgeous pair of wirework earrings using craft wire and 4mm Czech glass beads. To start cut 2 Pieces of 18 gauge wire 10cm in length.

Using the smallest point on the round nose pliers make a loop on both ends of both pieces of wire and then use flat nose pliers to twist the loops at a 90 degree angle.

Hammer the hoops so that they are flattened evenly.

Cut 50cm of 22 gauge wire and start to wrap it around the hoop. Wrap the wire 18 times before adding 3 4mm beads. Curve the beads around into a semi-circle and wrap the wire around the hoop 3 times. Repeat this 4 more times and finish by wrapping the wire another 18 times around the hoop and cut off any excess wire.

Cut 2 piece of 22 gauge wire 4cm in length. Turn a loop at one end of both pieces of wire using the smallest part of the round nose pliers.

Bend the wire into a semi-circle. (I used the end of a sharpie marker pen.)

Using flat nose pliers bend the end of the wire at a 90 degrees angle and hammer. Finally open the loop at the end of the hammered wire and attach to the beaded earring hoop.
This jewellery project is very versatile and can be adapted easily to fit your style. Simply change the colour of the wire or beads for an altogether different look.
