How To Use Super Duo Beads for Christmas Earrings
Super Duo beads are machine-pressed Czech glass that has not one, but two holes! They have dimples set into them which allow them to sit neatly side by side creating gorgeous patterns.
I love working with these beads because they are so versatile. I find that all glass beads work well alongside Super Duos to create a wide range of styles but seed beads in particular help to add contrast in a subtle way because of their size.

In search of a weaving pattern that could be easily produced, I found myself browsing Pinterest for Super Duo inspiration.
With Christmas being very much at the fore front of everyone’s mind this month, I was inspired to choose a geometric pattern that resembled the shape of a Christmas Tree and although I have made my trees into earrings they could also be used for bag charms, pendants and even decorations to put on your own Christmas tree.
I have chosen certain colours to depict Christmas but please don’t be put off if you are less inclined to use the beads in a seasonal manner.
I find that bead weaving is the most effective way to show off these stunning beads. I know all too well that lengthy instructions can be off putting when trying something new, but there really is no need for that to happen here!
It’s just as easy to play around with small patterns and then weave them together to produce something a little more exciting. For example, these cute little triangles can be stitched together to create a large star shape; perfect for decorations or large scale pendants.
After experimenting with these beads and getting a feel for them I think they would work nicely with Soutache because of their shape and size in particular. I look forward to using them more in the future.
