How to Make Beaded Hoop Earrings

When it comes to doing your Christmas shopping, there’s always that one person who is impossible to buy for. Sometimes it can be a real struggle to find the perfect gift for them. The good news is that you may be able to tackle this problem by making your own gifts instead.

If you’re new to the world of beading, making jewellery yourself may seem like a real challenge, so we’ve created this step-by-step guide to get you started. You’re welcome!

Let’s start by making these gorgeous wirework earrings.

All you need is:

First thing’s first, cut 2 pieces of 18 gauge wire so they’re each 10cm in length

Next, bend the wire to create a circle. You want this circle to be roughly 3cm in diameter.

Grab some round nose pliers, and using the smallest point, loop the ends of each piece of wire.

Use your flat nose pliers to twist the loops at a 90 degree angle

Using a hammer, flatten the hoops as evenly as possible

Cut 50cm of 22 gauge wire and start to wrap it around each hoop. After wrapping the wire around several times, start to add some beads to the piece of wire you’re wrapping around the original hoop.

Curve the beads into a semi-circle and continue to wrap the wire around the hoop a few more times

Keep repeating steps 6-7 as many times as you wish until you have fully decorated your hoop

To finish, cut off any excess wire.

Now, cut 2 pieces of 22 gauge wire 4cm in length.

Using the smallest part of the round nose pliers, turn a loop at one end of each piece of wire

Bend the wire into a semi-circle

Using flat nose pliers, bend the end of the wire at a 90 degrees angle and hammer it.

Finally, open the loop at the end of the hammered wire and attach to the beaded earring hoop
