Explore Various Ways of Selling Your Jewellery
One of the greatest delights of making your own jewellery is that someone else likes it enough to want to buy it from you! Over the next few weeks we will explore various ways of selling your jewellery and identify what promotional tools can help you to sell well.
Until the arrival of the internet, craft fairs were the main option for jewellery makers.Usually taking place in hotels, schools or village halls, the craft fairs are often arranged by a promoter who have a list of regular attendees. The main benefits of fairs are that they are usually well-publicised and they have a regular following of customers who attend and shop at them.
The downside for sellers is they have a limit to the number of each type of craft they will accommodate, so if they are over-subscribed with glass beads or jewellery makers there will be a waiting list for a space. Charges for table space vary tremendously depending on the venue, and costs will include getting there as well as the pitch fee, but fairs are a great way of meeting other crafters and seeing what they are doing, and even finding jewellery making supplies.
