‘Design and make 5 new items of jewellery this month’
Here at The Bead Shop we are always looking to find new ways to inspire you with your jewellery making, whether if it’s creating new jewellery ideas or keeping you up to date with the News & Trends. That’s why we would like to share with you some ideas for setting targets and keeping goals.
If you ever find yourself setting goals and only managing to achieve some of them, don’t worry you are not alone! An example many of us are guilty of is spending the day making jewellery but then forgetting to organise our desk when we have finished. If this is you, don’t beat yourself up about it. We would rather spend that extra ten minutes finishing our masterpiece than tidy up!
Joking aside, sometimes it is tempting to feel your organisational skills are not as good as you want them to be and there seems to be no way of improving them. To help you out we have a few tricks to make you feel that little bit more organised, which in the end will make you more productive.

The first trick is to be more specific. It is much easier to see how well we are doing at achieving a goal if it is written down in detail. For example, writing ‘Design and make five new items of jewellery this month’ in your diary is much better than just thinking ‘Make more jewellery this year.’
Having specific goals also helps keep us motivated until we get there. We need to think about what we need to do to reach our goals easily and successfully. Just committing to ‘Making more jewellery in 2013’ is too vague, however ‘Schedule two hours in my diary each week to make jewellery’ is clear and precise.
What goals have you given yourself in the past and have you hit them?
