Beading classes – great for expanding your skills base
If you like making jewellery, or customising clothes with beads, have you thought about attending beading classes?
They are not just for beginners; some classes are for very experienced beaders, and are there to help them learn new complex techniques. There are classes for all skill levels, and they can be on a variety of subjects.
You could learn how to do bead knotting, with string and round beads, or large wooden beads. You could be taught how to do a peyote stitch and how to make a beaded handbag. You could even be taught how to make wire spirals and other wire jewellery.
If you saw a beautiful wire and pearl bead necklace, but it looked to complicated to make, you could take a picture of it and bring it to your beading class. It may be that the person taking the class can use that for your next session, or even incorporate it into that one.
Most beading classes will advertise their subject, e.g. drop earrings, wire wrapping or bead stitching, so you will be able to go to ones that suit your skill level and in which you are interested.
