    • When and how did you start making jewellery?

“Well, I’d always loved buying jewellery for myself but one day my friend told me that she went on a jewellery making course and that was it, I wanted to give it a try.  So approximately 4 years ago I started making jewellery.  At first I self taught myself using various publications and then later went on to study with the most recent course being silversmithing and the next course silver clay classes.”
    • Who is your favourite designer?

“I don’t really have a favourite designer – I go for style rather than designer.  I’ve always loved a good charm bracelet or something with a bit of sparkle, so the likes of Pandora and Swarovski tick my box.”
    • What cant you live without when making jewellery?

“Wire!!!!  If I didn’t have any wire or jump rings I’d be doomed!”
    • What advice would you give to someone getting into jewellery making?

“Have patience and lots of it!  It takes a while to make your first few designs but once you’ve discovered what your style is, the inspiration keeps coming.”
    • What makes you smile the most when making jewellery?

My customers!  There’s nothing more rewarding than getting feedback off a happy customer and the joy you give them when they try your pieces on.  Without them I wouldn’t be here now!
    • What advice would you give to someone thinking of setting up a business to sell their jewellery?

“Have confidence in your product.  Give it time to build your customer base, it won’t happen over night.  Promote through Social Media.  And lastly – enjoy it!”
    • Finally, what jewellery do your customers love the most?

“That’s difficult as people have different tastes.  I would say my chain maille pieces are very popular as well as my vintage style antique brass necklaces.”
    • and anything you would like to add?

“I hope I’ve given you some inspiration and helpful advise.  For any of you that would like to view my full range of products please feel free to pop by my website,www.chasingbeads.co.uk or come and like or tweet about us at www.facebook.com/chasingbeads and/or www.twitter.com/ChasingBeadsUK.”
