Showcasing A My Favourite Beading Supplies

The Bead Shop Beading Supplies
I love fawning over all of the exciting new products that we get in here at The Bead Shop; however, there are some well-established products that hold special places in our hearts and that we use time and again to great effect so I thought that I’d showcase a few of my favourite beading supplies.
I’ve had a rummage through our stock and chosen some of my absolute favourite beads and findings; you might see things that you’ve never tried before, and I can hopefully inspire you to create your own beautiful pieces of jewellery!
This whimsical Beadsmith 23mm Square Collage Sheet, featuring images of faeries from classical fine-art and illustration never fails to get my imagination soaring!
Evoking a magical and vintage feel, these mini-art reproductions look so beautiful when placed inside a decorative cameo mount to create a magical art-locket and I love to dangle little charms, trinkets and other ephemera alongside for a really delightful embellishment!
I secure the image in place with glue and once that’s dried; apply a layer of 3D Crystal Lacquer to the surface to seal!
Crocodile Hair Clips make a great base for creating spectacular hair adornments;
I simply use a dab or two of E-6000 or Super Glue and pop whatever I’ve taken a fancy to on top and ta-da!
An instantaneous new hair piece!
I’ve used these glues to stick on fabric flowers, ribbon, bows, feathers and even glow-in-the-dark rubber bats for Halloween!

I love spikes and studs, on my clothing as well as in my jewellery choices and so these Czech glass spike beads really speak to me.
I especially love using them alongside metal spikes and chain and layering them up to create something really dramatic and edgy that looks great alongside leather and lace!
Our Freshwater Blister Pearls have a naturally organic feel to them; I love the irregular shapes and sizes that they come in and that no two pearls are at all alike.

My particular favourite is the 8-22mm blister Freshwater pearl gold beads; they feel really luxurious but also have a wildness that almost reminds me of teeth and claws.
Pairing them with glass spikes and chain really brings out that wild quality; they’re also beautiful when used alongside sparkling Swarovski Crystals to create magical mermaids treasure!
I absolutely adore our sparkling Swarovski Crystals, but to be completely honest, I’ve cheated a little bit on this particular favourite, as I really couldn’t decide upon a favourite Swarovski bead, so instead, I’ve gathered a little collection of some of my favourite Swarovski Xilion Bicone shades which I love to see being used together.

These shades of deep purple, silvery-grey and bronze are rich and elegant, perfect for an incredible glamorously gothic piece of jewellery!
- Swarovski 4mm Xilion Bicone Bead – Crystal Heliotrope
- Swarovski 6mm Xilion Bicone Bead – Purple Velvet
- Swarovski 6mm Xilion Bicone Bead – Bronze Shade 2x
I’ve finished off my little collection with a gorgeous Swarovski 22mm Pear Drop – Silver Night for a really opulent finishing touch!
