How To Make Beaded Earrings using Hoop Earring Findings

Earring hoop Findings

Earring components come in all shapes, colours and sizes but there is one in particular from our range here at the Bead Shop that I wanted to experiment with, and that is the hoop!

Hoop earring findings are super easy to use

Our 40mm large hoop earring component comprises of a hoop approx. 0.7mm thick that meets at a fastening point with a loop so that you can easily complete your earrings with your choice of hoop earring findings.

One end of the hoop is detachable enabling you to thread beads onto the hoop earrings with ease. There are many ways to create hoop earrings, wire work to name but a few

This technique requires a few essential tools that can be fairly costly and wire work can be quite complex at times whereas these hoop components are the exact opposite. The hoops are super easy to use and you can create luxurious fashionable earrings in minuets and within a budget.

I have had immense fun playing around with these nifty hoop earrings to illustrate just how easy it is to create gorgeous works of art to dangle from your finest.

 Pick Your Beading Supplies:

  • Choose your beads.
  • Pull out one end of the wire (you will see that one end is secured.)
  • Thread your beads onto the wire.
  • Secure the end of the wire at the fastening point.
  • Wear!!!

Tips for Earring Hoop Findings:

I have found it is best to leave approximately 1cm of wire after threading your beads onto it so that you have enough to feed through the fastener and pull out slightly. Bend the wire upwards before trimming and this will ensure that the wire will not slip out.

Be careful when choosing your beads! You have to take into consideration that the wire is curved so beads that are bigger than 6mm with a small hole such as Swarovski pearls will not fit. Most beads will however such as the Czech glass range will.

Using the hoop components has been easy and it is quick to see your designs take shape. The only thing that can be a bit tricky is pulling the wire through the loop to secure it. I used a pair of chain nose pliers to make sure I pulled the wire tight. The overall finished product looks neat and professional.

I would definitely use this product again and maybe next time experiment with different shape beads or extend the length of the earring by hanging beads from it!

The possibilities are endless!
