How To Incorporate Czech Glass Beads into Jewellery Designs

Inspired By Czech Glass Beads Depth of Colour
It’s getting warmer and the nights are getting lighter, our long awaited summer is on its way. We are starting to change our wardrobes, ditching the jeans and jumpers in favour of vest tops and flowing skirts. This calls for a change is accessories also! So it’s time to put your fabulous jewellery ideas into fruition.
I wanted to create a necklace that is bold in style but had a fairly neutral pallet that would complement shorts and a t-shirt as well as long casual dresses. I love using beaded jewellery to add style to my outfit and wearing chunky jewellery pieces for everyday occasions.

For this jewellery design I was inspired by Aztec and native American jewellery style, as I find the symmetry visually pleasing, the patterns and bold of colour.
I am increasing drawn to these gorgeous funky acrylic spikes which come in an array of transparent and opaque colours.
I’ve paired them with Czech glass beads ranging from 4-8mm. I tend to incorporate Czech glass beads into almost everything I make because of their individuality. They are like Swarovski crystals in the fact that they are faceted but they possess more depth in their colour and don’t sparkle as much.
I’ve used a piece of 18 gauge craft wire to suspend the Czech beads from. The beads are secured using nylon coated wire and crimp beads, and the acrylic spikes are connected to the beaded strands using jump rings. I have then attached a length of chain with a fastener to each end of the craft wire.
The best thing about this design is that it suits both long and short necklaces so you can adjust it to whatever suits your outfit best.
