How To Create Halloween Jewellery

Inspired to Make Halloween Jewellery
October is my absolute favourite month of the whole year, not just because it’s my birthday, but because of the beautiful autumnal colours October brings with it.
Its also hosts Halloween, the second most important calendar date of the year, after my birthday of course! This October the theme is Gothic, a perfect excuse to tap into my not so inner Goth.

In everyday life I have an overwhelming passion for anything and everything floral especially roses, so growing up with Morticia Addams on the television dead heading roses in full bloom felt like the perfect image use as inspiration for my Halloween jewellery.
When I imagine Halloween jewellery I picture lace, velvet, rubies, hints of Swarovski sparkle and of course the colour black, I envisage dark opulence and macabre Victorian glamour.
I instantly knew that I wanted to create a choker style necklace and that black lace was the perfect base for such a project, so along with my already beheaded roses I used fabric glue to bond them together after numerous arrangements.
My original plan was to sew the roses on, but opted for gluing, which is equally effective choice. With the basic shape complete it was time to get creative with some delicate details.
After doing a little ‘research’ on Pinterest I decided on a cascading chandelier esque shape using 4mm Swarovski Bicones on twisted loop eyepins elegantly falling in between each rose linked between gaps in the lace using jump rings.
On inspection I felt that it didn’t quite convey what the glamorous Halloween jewellery look I was looking to create, with this in mind I headed back over to the Swarovski Elements, where I locked eyes upon the absolutely stunning Swarovski drops.
I feel that the small jet drops break up the empty space between each dip and add that extra special something, where as I simply couldn’t resist the intense sparkle of silver night pear drop, it makes the ideal focal point to my Gothic choker, the dark grey tone breaks up the jet black and compliment the deep blood red of the roses.
