‘Beat The High Street’ Miss Selfridges beaded Necklace & Bracelet

For this month’s ‘Beat The High Street’ We have challenged not one but two department stores, picking a beaded necklace & bracelet that are glamorous and easy to replicate on a tight budget.

It may be the new year, typically known for staying in and trying to replenish our money pots after a lavish Christmas, but there are still parties to attend and people to dazzle.

This beaded necklace from Miss Selfridges retails at £14. Beautiful bold pearls glam up any outfit but we thought the bright gold findings and white pearls were a little too brash.

We have ditched the gold chain in favour of black for a more sophisticated feel. We have arranged a variety of colours and sizes of glass pearls to create a versatile necklace with more personality.

Another party night essential is the bracelet, here we found a simple black faceted bead bracelet with a heart charm from Next ringing in at a whopping £10! How much I hear you say!

The best thing about finding jewellery you want to replicate is that you can change the colours around to match your mood or outfit. We got carried away with this one and made two bracelets that can be worn together or separately.

We have simple strung faceted glass rhondells along with faceted Czech glass beads onto elastic and added a few extra Czech glass beads with the addition of a Swarovski ‘Devoted 2 U’ heart charm.

The colours chosen to create these pieces are in keeping with the wintery weather but there is nothing stopping you from experimenting and interpreting this into something bright and colourful spring shades.
