Snowflake Obsidian is a naturally forming volcanic glass and the beautiful white and grey ‘snowflake’ flecks give these beads a striking appearance. It is created when molten lava comes into contact with water and cools at an especially fast rate causing Obsidian to form. The markings in Snowflake Obsidian occur when white clustered crystals become trapped in the black volcanic glass.

It is traditionally known as a protection stone, guarding against both physical and mental harm as well as negativity and can provide balance during change.
