Black Agate Semi Precious Stones 6mm - 39cm String

Agate is a very fine grained form of Quartz most of which originate from Brazil.

The stone is formed when gas bubbles form in liquid volcanic lava bubbles. These bubbles cool and harden forming nodules in the rock. Agate is an extremely hard rock which requires diamond saws cut the stone. It is polished to remove any imperfections then dyed to enhance and display the beautiful natural banding within.

Black Agate is traditionally worn to ward off negative feelings and thoughts directed towards you. The theory behind this comes from the opaque quality of the gemstone and lack of light that can pass through it, therefore suggesting invisibility.
