    About Lobster Clasps

Lobster clasps, also known as Trigger clasps, are the most popular way to finish off a piece of jewellery. Most ready-made jewellery comes with one. There are two reasons for this, firstly because they are super cost effective, so if you are making a lot of pieces to either sell or to give as gifts the price does not mount up on the fastenings, meaning you can spend more on your beads. Secondly because they are very neutral they go with pretty much everything, especially as we sell our lobster clasps in so many colours!

    Lobster clasp styles

We stock lobster clasps in 4 sizes ranging from 10mm for delicate pieces to 27mm for chunky jewellery and bag charms, and in 7 colours including antique copper and antique brass to ensure that there is one to match every project.

What's the difference between a lobster clasp and a trigger clasp?

A "trigger clasp" and a "lobster clasp" are actually the same thing. The terms "trigger clasp" and "lobster clasp" are often used interchangeably in the jewellery industry. Both refer to a type of clasp that features a small, oblong or oval-shaped metal piece with a hinged lever and a spring-loaded mechanism. This mechanism allows for easy opening and closing of the clasp by pressing down on the lever. So, to clarify, there is no significant difference between a "lobster clasp" and a "trigger clasp." They are two different names for the same type of clasp commonly used in necklaces, bracelets, and other types of jewellery.

    Heart Trigger Clasp

Heart trigger clasps are a lovely twist on your usual lobster clasp; they still have the simplicity of a lobster clasp but with a hint of quirk, perfect to attach to an elegant chain and pendant or to finish off a beautiful beaded creation. We stock them in 4 colours including antique copper.

We are super confident that you will find a trigger / lobster clasp amongst our vast range to compliment your lovingly handcrafted piece of jewellery.
