How To Make Beaded Jewellery

How To Make Daisy Chain Jewellery using Seed Beads

DSCF3663 As the Festivals and summer are fast approaching us I wanted to create something that would represent this time of year, with a floral theme and pastel colours. I remember making daisy chains on the school field gossiping with my friends and that familiar summer smell of freshly cut grass: It brings back good memories.

I made these cute seed beads daisy chain bracelets

Start by using the 4mm Czech Faceted round beads and Galvanised 6/0 Miyuki Seed beads and a metre of white Nymo beading thread and a beading needle picture 1 Attach the hook from the S hook and Eye clasp set by just tying a knot.

Have one long length of thread and a shorter length, approx. 10cm, you can use this at the end to seal the knot and beads. picture 2 Now thread on the faceted Czech beads to make a daisy shape. To do this, thread on 5 beads then thread back through the first 3 and pull to make the flower.

Next, thread on three seed beads, and repeat this pattern until you have enough to fit your wrist.

Once you get to the other end, tie on to one side of the S Hook and thread through the faceted beads to seal off. Make a longer chain and turn it into a choker or a headband using Fireline crystal clear thread instead of Nymo.

How to make the seed bead Daisy earrings

I made a single flower using the same method as the bracelets. This time when you thread on the seed bead instead of going back through the first 3 faceted beads, go through the opposite bead to the seed bead. picture 4 then pass through all the beads so it is sturdier. picture 5 Knot ends of thread together and seal with glue then, adding a jump ring, attach to the bottom of the ear wire and finish by adding on the seed beads. Another idea would be to make stud earrings, making the single daisies then glue to the base. Don’t forget to use very strong glue such as Zap jewellery gel or Epoxy. picture 6 It is fun using different colour ways. I just stuck with the White for the daisies, but you could use any colours, there are so many to choose from! If you did use a different colour Czech bead I would use a similar colour Nymo as the white may show up. The Bracelets would be a great idea to make with children as there are no tools involved and it is quite a simple technique. Have Fun!!
