Afflecks Palace starts 2012 on a high

Whilst the high street is facing another tough year, Afflecks Palace is starting the year with exciting news.

The Manchester Evening News has reported that the popular Northern Quarter landmark had a record-breaking Christmas, welcoming more than one million shoppers over the festive period.

Independent traders have noticed an increase in first-time customers visiting Afflecks Palace including older shoppers. People are often surprised when we tell them that most of The Bead Shop’s customers are in their 30s to 50s. Many assume the shop would attract mostly teenagers but in fact we have a wide range of ages walking through our doors.

We certainly noticed the buzz over Christmas and the start of 2012 has been very busy for us. Nearly all of our jewellery making classes have sold out this month and many of our customers are asking for more classes to be put on at our academy. Everyone’s New Year resolution must have been to be more creative with beads!

We chose to have our shop in Afflecks Palace because it is unique to Manchester and offers something different to the high street. People now want to visit shops where you can find something different and something nobody else will have.

The Bead Shop has become hugely popular with customers looking for just that and we are finding people want to make beaded jewellery that is totally different from anything on the high street.

We think 2012 is going to be a great year for going back to basics and making things by hand. Take a look at our tips & advice website, for loads of jewellery making ideas.
