Bee Beads and Charms

A sacred insect in many cultures, most notably Ancient Near Eastern and Aegean civilisations, the bee is often held in high regard due to it's usefulness as pollinator and producer of honey. There is evidence of a Bee God found in Mayan Ruins, which likely designated honey-producing cities with honey often being called The Food of the Gods and believed to be a gift of eloquence. The Egyptians saw the bee as being symbolic of the soul and many cultures believed the bee was the bridger between the natural and the underworld; indeed within countless mythologies, the bee was seen as a messenger of prophecy. The bee is symbolic of divine femininity and fertility, most likely because they are ruled by Queens as well as music and poetry. They are also known as hard workers and representative of community, echoed in the saying, 'busy as a bee'!

Using Bee Beads and Charms Bees

Bee charms and beads lend themselves to light, spring-time inspired jewellery pieces; they would look lovely used alongside flowers and other delicate creatures, or used with light pastel shades or perhaps team them with golden and black hues to represent the bees colouring.
