Crimp beads as well as headpins, eyepins and jump rings are the foundations of all basic jewellery making, at some point in your jewellery making journey you will come across these little metal squash able balls and you will probably need your glasses.
Crimp beads have two main jobs, the first is to hold your nylon coated wire at either end on which you will need to attach a clasp and the second is to hold beads in place mid string. For example; if you are creating a floating necklace, use these to separate your beads to give that floating illusion.
We stock two shapes; round crimp and tube crimps, both do the same thing, it is just personal preference to which one you choose. If you are planning on using crimp covers, we suggest using round crimps as they are much easier to cover, especially if you are not using crimping pliers. As well as two styles, we stock a wide range of colours including antique brass and antique copper and even have crimp with loops available for easy use without the fuss of wire guardians and crimp covers.
