Jump rings are essential when making jewellery. They are used to connect all sorts of findings from attaching clasps, pendants and much more. Jump rings are round metal circles with a split in so they can be opened and closed.

Jump rings require pliers to open them and close them to ensure no gap is left. When opening jump rings always ensure that you twist them from side to side rather than to pull them apart because they will lose their shape and strength.
